FROM Jason:
When I started out creating websites about ten years ago it was incredibly awkward, it was like I was having to learn how to read a foreign language. I felt like I had to read hundred's of books just to understand the most basic concepts. For everything I learned it felt like I went one step forward and ten steps back.
There was so much I just didn't understand but I thought I needed to understand. This went on for a long time. I never got anything accomplished, the confusion was rising as was my frustration. I just couldn't "get it". Finally I said "I've had enough!" and I made a commitment to myself that I was going to do whatever it took to get this handled. I read a bunch of books, I took classes, and I really did try everything.
After several months I was finally able to get "something" up but it just never looked right and the process was so convoluted that I just never stayed motivated enough to keep at it. All this stuff was still like greek to me and I was still confused. Then I met some guys at a job who just "got it". They could sit down and hammer out brand new sites each day. Each one looking significantly better than anything I could do. It just didn't make sense, what did they know that I didn't? What book did they read? I started talking to them and realized they rarely read books. This was a huge realization to me. The more I talked to them the more things started to "click".
It took me a couple months of working with them and doing what they said before I finally started getting some great results. I was finally able to get sites up quickly, easily, and they looked good. I was happy and my clients were blown away with the results. I started getting more work and everything finally started looking up.
Back then I would literally spend DAYS or WEEKS trying to get a site up that worked right and looked decent. Then after a few months it went down to just a couple of days and eventually it got to the point where it took me less than an hour to get a blog up from concept to completion. I couldn't believe just how easy this stuff finally became. It just worked every time. Everything became clear.
So once I had all this stuff down and I was able to create professional looking blog's for people in about an hour or so I started to wonder if I could help other people, I thought I couldn't be the only person who had such a hard time with this.
I was taking some web design classes and I walked in one day and started teaching some other people my process and everything I did, it was like magic. It was like I could see a little "light switch" go off in their heads each time I finished. They "got it".
I realized I was on to something here and decided to spend a few months writing this stuff down and formalizing it into something anyone could use and start getting results right away.
So after several months of hard work (writing this stuff out, shooting videos, and so on) I want to show you this system.
The REAL REASON Why This Stuff Is So Hard
After I finally got this stuff down, and figured this whole thing out, I really started to wonder what the big deal was...
Why is this so HARD for most people?
I mean there are countless books out there...
Then It happened, I went out and looked at several books and each book brought me back to that previous state of confusion. It's like my brain started fighting these books. Each word and phrase was like a distant language...
Then it hit me right in the face, all of these books approach the subject from a very technical manner. Each chapter sounding like a technical history lesson. I could care less about learning the history of blogging or web design, I didn't want to learn how this stuff came to be, I just wanted to be online...
That's the moment I finally decided to go ahead and write WordPress Foundations. I wanted a course that ANYONE could follow, without filling it with so much technical jargon you just run away pulling your hair out screaming.
I got out my notes, and began writing it. After my first draft was done I printed it out and sent it to a few people who I knew wanted a blog but just didn't know how to go about it.
And you know what? They loved it, but they still had a few suggestions. I talked to them on the phone (taking notes) and talked them through their problems.
I then went back to the keyboard and basically rewrote the entire book (it was previously 120 pages, then it became 160). This time when I sent it out I got a lot of great feedback, and then one of my previous teachers wanted to use it as a text book for his class. Then I knew I had to make this thing unbelievable.
So I went back home, and turned this book into a course. I created action steps, added summary's, and really made it as easy as possible, no thinking required! The kind of book I wish would of existed before
Honestly though?
I thought the course might go over better with video. Explaining how to move menus, and check options was sometimes hard to explain on paper. So I had this Crazy Epiphany...
I sat down and spent months converting this stuff to video. Adding in valuable information and advice. Getting feedback from people who bought the course in the past, and those who took the class that had a few issues with certain topics.
Now WordPress Foundations has turned into something much greater than I previously intended. This course covers so much stuff and assumes so little, it's like a classroom in a box.
So now let me share with you what you'll find inside WordPress Foundations...
What is WordPress Foundations and What's In It?
One of the biggest fears of creating a website is creating something that looks bad, and coming off as an amateur. As this will DRIVE your customers and visitors away. Another huge fear, one I had, was once you have it built, what do you do now? How do you keep it going, how do you make it so people will want to come back and visit your website?
In this exciting new course, I'm going to address these concerns and so much more.
I have devised a system that all you have to do is follow the steps. You will build a strong framework for your website. This will ensure your success, and guarantee that you have a chance in the blogosphere (fancy super geek term for online world). I also have cut down the fluff. You will not be spending time learning that which will not immediately help you.
When your viewing the videos, I will tell you if the video is something that will apply to you, or not, so you do not waste your time learning stuff that does not directly apply to you.
Here is what is included in the WordPress Foundations 2.7 Course:
- A detailed step-by-step eBook that spans about 200 pages covering everything you need to know, while walking you through each step, giving you specific advice on how to proceed (as well as exercises).
- Over 5 and a half hours of me personally going through the entire process laid out in the book, explaining each piece of the interface (that matters) and showing you how to accomplish your goals.
I've bought training videos in the past and one of the things I hate most is not being able to see what's going on. As such, I created this course in crystal clear high definition video. You can see every menu box and every click in stunning detail. I've also formatted the videos so you can easily play them back on other devices that support HDTV like the Xbox 360 and Apple TV. (They also work on your computer too).
Each video in the series starts out with an introduction explaining what the video is about and what you'll learn (that way if you don't need to know a particular part, you can easily skip it).
If you're the kind of person who prefers to read instead of viewing videos, I created a short "overview" video for each chapter that explains the chapter and gives you a set of exercises for each chapter.
So you can watch the video and then read the chapter.
Now let me tell you a little bit about what you're going to learn in the main course:
- Chapter 1 starts out explaining the course and to introduce you to the system
- Chapter 2 covers blogging basics, you'll learn what a blog is, the different kinds of blog's that you can create and learn some essential "Blogging Terminology."
- Chapter 3 goes over the different versions of WordPress and helps you choose which one is right for you.
- Chapter 4 is where we get started using WordPress. You'll learn how to setup your account, where to login and more.
- Chapter 5 introduces you to the dashboard (which is where you manage your entire blog). I cover the interface, how to navigate around it, and how to modify it to suit your needs.
- Chapter 6 is where we start setting up your blog. You'll learn how to edit your profile, setup options, and configure a lot of very complicated stuff (Don't worry,it's kept very straightforward).
- Chapter 7 delves into writing posts. You'll become a master of the writing panel. We start out with writing a post, and we also talk (in detail) about how to setup your tags and categories (doing this wrong can come back to bite you later on down the road).
- Chapter 8 covers creating Pages. In this chapter you will learn some advanced strategies for dealing with Pages and when to choose a Page over a Post.
- Chapter 9 is where we begin to have some fun. Here we learn how to apply themes. I personally go over and critique several themes that I think are really great to use. This is a very valuable chapter. After completing it your site will instantly look better.
- Chapter 10 goes into widgets. You'll learn what they are and how to add them to your site and more. One thing I cover in this video is how to show your "Twitter Updates" on your sidebar and more.
- Chapters 11-13 cover adding images to your site, and discusses the various features that you can turn on and activate when you're using the hosted version of WordPress.
- Chapter 14 teaches you everything you need to know about comments. You'll learn if you should enable comments or not. If you do how to view them and how to moderate them so your site does not get spammed (very important).
- Chapter 15 is likely the most "fun" chapter. In this chapter we talk about adding multimedia to your website. I show step by step how to add images to your site (and where to get free images without getting in trouble) you see me do this step by step, then I go on to show how to embed video from YouTube (Including how to embed High Definition Videos, how to have videos auto play, turning off the related videos feature, and customize the look to fit your site. We also cover adding music.
- Chapter 16 is another advanced chapter. In this chapter you'll learn how to manage your posts and pages. You'll learn about several tags that not many people use (which can be deadly mistake). After watching this chapter you'll know more about WordPress than most "Pro Bloggers".
- Chapter 17 delves much deeper into categories and tags. You'll learn the difference between them, how to create them, delete them, modify them, convert them and more. This video is NOT to be missed.
- Chapter 18 shows you how to add users to your site so you can easily split up the work between multiple people.
- Chapter 19 covers password protection. Learn how it works, potential pitfalls and why you might not want to use it (as well as a recommendation for a plugin that does this for you automatically).
- Chapter 20 goes over your blog roll. You'll learn what one is and how to manage it.
- Chapter 21 covers some of the most important material in the course, and that's Maintenance. Once you have your site up and online, there are certain things you really need to do to ensure your blog is up to date, that search engines can find you, and to make sure you're not getting spammed. This is chapter you'll reference for years to come.
- Chapter 22 covers tips and techniques for bloggers who are going to be self-hosting. You'll learn how to setup your blog (in less than 5 minutes) as well as where to go if you want to have your self-hosted version installed in under a minute! I also show you where you can get tons of themes for free.
This is just the content from the main course. I've also created several bonuses which take you further down the rabbits hole and really ensures you get this stuff handled. So now lets talk about...
Over 4 Hours Of Advanced Bonus Training
That Takes You Deeper Down The Rabbit's Hole
After I created the course, and decided to put it online, I thought it would be nice to include some additional videos to cover some more advanced concepts and techniques...
Shortly after this course went online, people loved it and offered a few additional suggestions for things they wanted to learn (When you buy WordPress Foundations, I offer additional content that you can use after you go through the course), so I shot some additional videos that cover these advanced topics.
Let me tell you about them:
In addition to the main course, I also have "The Quick Start Videos" series. Inside here I cover everything you need to know to get started using WordPress RIGHT NOW. These videos don't cover how to do design and setup your blog, but it does give you a firm understanding of WordPress as well as the ability to start using WordPress right away (so if you already have a WordPress blog and just can't figure it out, these videos will kick start your success).
Inside this module you'll find the following High Definition training videos:
- 90 MPH Introduction to WordPress - which shows you EVERYTHING you need to do on a daily basis in about 7 minutes
- Introduction To Dashboard - This is a very quick introduction to dashboard. How to begin using it and more.
- General Settings - How to setup your general settings
- Write A Post - Learn how to quickly and easily write a post
- Add Images - Learn how to add images to your posts
- Add Video - Learn how to add video to your blog
- Themes - Change the look of your site instantly with themes. Learn exactly how inside this video.
- Widgets - Enhance your blog with widgets, watch this video for a quick introduction.
- Comments - Learn how to handle your comments.
Please remember that the "Quick Start Series" are only to be used to go ahead and get grounded. You will find a lot of overlap between these videos and the videos inside the main course. The difference is in length. These videos are as short as can be. They can be used as refreshers, or if you need to reference something quickly.
I recommend watching the "90 MPH Introduction To WordPress Video" as soon as you buy this program.
Next we have the "Bonus Module". This content is for people who are used to using WordPress and have a firm understanding of how to do things, but want to take their skills to the next level. Inside this folder you'll find the following:
Over 30 minutes of Search Engine Optimization Techniques, follow along as I deconstruct a Live Site, and give you steps on what to do NOW so that you can easily get ranked in Google.
5 Simple Ways To Create Content For Your Blog - This video shows how to come up with content for your blog, and a simple easy to use formula that practically writes the content for you!
Next up is a Mini Module called "HTML Lessons" (The least you need to know). Inside this module you'll find:
- The 5 Key HTML Tags - These are the essential tags you need to understand. In the next few videos I go over these tags and show you various ways to use them.
- How To Edit Your Footer - Learn how to add a copyright link or anything else to the footer of your website.
- How To Add Social Media Buttons - Learn how to add social media buttons or advertisement banners to your WordPress website. I show you an example of adding a "Follow Me on Twitter" social media icon. I deconstruct the process and show you how you can apply these techniques and simple lines of code to add banners or additional icons (such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and more).
- Wide Open Spaces - Learn how to add additional white space to your blog. By default WordPress only allows you to have one line break on your blog. In this video I show you how to overcome that limitation using a "simple technique" that takes less than 10 seconds to implement.
- How To Edit Fonts - In this hour long series I cover how to edit fonts. How to change between different font faces such as Arial, Times, Bookman and more. I proceed with teaching you some brief techniques on how to change color schemes (as well as a tool that will automatically create color schemes for you for free!)
Next I show you the "12 Must Have WordPress Plugin's". This video shows you the 12 Must Have Plugin's that you need to install immediately. These plugin's are the cream of the crop and help you with SEO (Getting Ranked in Search Engines), Stat Tracking (Know Who is on Your Site and How They Got There), knowing what your visitors are searching for, giving your readers a reason to leave comments on your blog, and (if that wasn't enough) stops spammers COLD.
Lastly, you get my favorite video which is called "The Final Hour".
This is the exact process I go through to setup a site. I go from having no idea what I want (this video is completely unscripted) to having exactly what I want.
I start at the beginning and show you how to "Mine" valuable domain names for your blog, then we discuss where to host your blog (using the 1 click install service), then we go on and "uncover" how we want to structure the blog, using my "modeling technique".
I take you through my exact process in real time (this is an advanced workflow video as as such I do not waste your time installing stuff, this is a very information packed video), of how I would go about setting up a site. You'll see how I develop a blogging strategy (how to design your posts) to coming up with a nice look with the widgets and elements I want.
The Final Hour is for someone who just HAS to get a blog up in an hour. It's the Final Hour. You could just watch this video and the quick start videos and be well on your way to blogging. (Then go back and cement your knowledge with the course or just use it as a reference).
Now that you know what's included, let me take a minute and cover a few common questions...
Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is this course for me? I have never made a website before, and not to confident with using a computer?
Yes, this course is as user friendly as possible. This course demystifies what you need to know, makes it very easy, and you will be online in MINUTES. I recommend you buy the course, because you can see me going over the interface live, and with the “Video Course” series, you will learn how to properly setup and configure your blog.
Do I need to go through your course from beginning to end to be able to get my website online? Exactly how long will it take for me to be online?
No, you do NOT need to finish the entire course before you go online. This course was setup so you’re online after the first few chapters. Everything else is just to get you better, to teach you good workflow techniques, and to become confident. If you need to get busy right away, check out my “90MPH Overview Of WordPress.” In this video, I go over EVERYTHING you need to know to work on your site after your website is online. In about 10 minutes! You can then take it one step further and watch my "The Final Hour" video where I go over my entire workflow. With these 2 videos (less than an hour) you should be able to get your site online and have it look a lot like how you want. You can then go back and start reading the book as needed and reference the 9+ hour long video course on an as needed basis.
Hey, I’m not a geek, am I going to be able to understand what your saying? Or is the book filled with technical mumbo jumbo that only serves to confuse me?
Yes, you will be able to understand what I’m saying. I do not use any “geek speak”. I speak to you in a down to earth conversational manner, as if you were a friend or family member new to the internet. I do not bore you with stuff you do not need to know. In the course I talk about a few terms that you should know, but that’s it.
I’ve took some classes in the past, and bought some books, and I even created my own blog. But I couldn't keep it going. I didn’t know what to say, what to do. It took me so long to get it to work, I was afraid of messing it up. Will you be covering how to change things? They way words look, and the way the site looks? I don’t want to be made fun of because my site looks bad, and I never know what to say?
Yes, the book shows how to change themes, what to look out for, and the videos show you how to do this in real time, and how to choose the “right” theme for you. I also cover how to edit your text in the book in great detail. To make this easier for you, I created a pretty good video that covers how to write your posts, and how to get around the interface inside the quick start folder so you can go ahead and get started right away.
Hey, do you talk about how to add videos? I want to put some funny videos on my blog, and I keep getting stuck.
Sure, I cover it in the main course, and I also made a video for you showing how to add videos inside the quick start module. I even show you how to modify the way the video looks, so you can embed wide screen video if you wanted to. The course also covers how to add music (like mp3’s) and photos. I recommend watchin the video called "Chater 15 - Multimedia" for more information.
I keep hearing about SEO? What is it, and do you cover how to use it?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Most of the material on the net is pretty confusing. As this is a pretty tough topic, I do not cover it in the course. But I did shoot over 30 minutes of video covering how to make your website Search Engine Friendly. I have simplified it as much as I can, and if you follow the steps I teach in those videos, you will have a very Search Engine Optimized website. (These videos are located inside the bonus folder)
Ok, tell me this, I got my blog up, so now what do I do?
Congratulations! When you get the video course, check out the bonus folder. I created a video called “5 Simple Ways To Create Content For Your Blog“, in that video I cover how to come up with a never ending supply of ideas for your site, and then I take it one step further by giving you a quick and easy to use formula that basically writes articles on demand!
Before I get the course, what if I need to know something, and it is not covered in the book? Can I contact you?
Of course! If something is confusing you, or you have a problem, you want to learn how to do something, just send me an email. I will try and make a video for you and send it out to you and others who bought the course (to help them too!)
Can I checkout a sample video?
Sure, Watch this 3 minute and 27 second long video that shows you how to take advantage of the new "quick install" feature inside WordPress 2.7. This is a great video after you watch it and order the course I recommend checking out the "12 Must Have WordPress Plugin's" video. (Don't worry, the video you see below is also located inside the bonus folder and in High Definition). The sample is not in HD.

What's the price for an awesome program like this??
If you were going to hire someone to get your website online, it would cost you some serious money. Your looking at anywhere between 500 dollars to 5,000 dollars depending on what you want done. This may or may not include graphic design, creating logos, and it definitely does not include teaching you how to manage and maintain your blog.
This one course will give you everything you need. Your going to learn how to build your website from the ground up. Taking advantage of my "Getting Started" video, and following along with the videos and the eBook, your basically getting me as your consultant for free. You will have someone asking you the important questions. The questions that would normally cost you 50+ dollars an hour. And you'll be taught how to implement them.
You also learn how to use wordpress, learn all the advanced features, and high level strategies for making sure everything is organized in the best way possible, to ensure that at any time you can have someone else work on the blog, and not have to spend weeks explaining your complex organizational scheme.
You may be thinking, well that's great, but how much is this going to cost me?
This is something I have been struggling with...
The reason I created this course was so I could say to clients who want to hire me to go to wordpressfoundations.com, buy this package, watch it, implement it, then contact me when you want to proceed. A lot of the stuff that people have problems with are covered in detail in this course. It can save you a lot of time and money.
I also wanted this course to be user friendly enough so that my Mom could get her own blog up and running in no time. I did not cram this book full of technical jargon because I wanted it to be as user friendly as possible.
The point of the course and eBook is not to fill up a page count or sound important, it's all about YOU, and how to get YOU online right away, the right way.
Several people told me I could price this well over a hundred dollars and it would sell like hotcake's. A typical fee on elance or any other outsourcing website is 50+ dollars an hour on the low end for working on your site. That's not including teaching you how to use your site. They just login, do they work, and you pay them! If you hired a firm or company the price would be much larger than 50 dollars an hour, more like $2,000 minimum.
But I dismissed selling it for over a hundred dollars right away.
I wanted to get this program out at a price so compelling and affordable that everyone who NEEDS the course will have NO EXCUSE to not pick it up.
This is a pretty high end program, and the only course of its kind. No where else will can you get such a straight forward and honest approach.
Right now I'm offering this program at a special price of an even $50 dollars. (Less than the cost of hiring someone for about an hour, and best of all, you will know how to do this stuff on your own).
I can honestly say that there is no program even remotely like this one, anywhere...
When you “Click Here To Order Today” you will be directed to our order form, after you input your billing information, you will be redirected to a download page where you can download the entire course online, and start viewing it IMMEDIATELY!
